Age Layer is a privacy-first age and identity verification system. We help websites ensure that users are old enough to access restricted content or services — without collecting more data than necessary.

Once verified, you’ll get a private Age Layer passcode. This lets you access any Age Layer partner site without needing to re-verify.

  1. You upload a photo of your government-issued ID
  2. You upload a selfie (sometimes holding the ID)
  3. Our trained team reviews your documents to confirm your age
  4. Once verified, you receive a reusable passcode via secure email

All images are deleted after review — and we never store unnecessary personal information.

Yes. You may black out personal info like your name, address, or ID number — as long as your date of birth, expiration date, and enough of the ID is visible to confirm it’s valid.

We accept most government-issued photo IDs that show your date of birth, expiration date, and face clearly. This includes:

  • Passports
  • Driver’s licenses
  • National ID cards
  • Military IDs

No. Once you’ve verified with Age Layer, your private passcode lets you log in to any partner site that uses our system — without needing to upload your ID again.

No. All images are deleted after manual review. We do not retain sensitive ID documents or selfies.

We don’t keep any unnecessary data to begin with — but you can request a deletion of your verification record or passcode at any time. Just contact our support team.

We use human review, not AI guesses. This allows us to:

You receive a verification status, a timestamp, and a unique passcode hash. You do not get access to users' ID documents, selfies, or personal data — unless legally required or user-consented.
